DeGrom left Wednesday night's game against Atlanta after four innings, one inning after he felt pain during a swing and miss. After the MRI and clinical examination, neither of which revealed any structural or other damage, Jacob has been cleared to prepare for his next start.

DeGrom was injured while striking out swinging in the third inning.

Scotland becomes first country to implement minimum unit alcohol price
The comments come after an announcement that Scotland had brought in a minimum price of 50p (NZ 97 cents) per unit of alcohol as of 1 May.

"It felt good to hear that news", Callaway said. "He said it feels fine throwing, he hadn't had any issues throwing, so he went back out". He added that he won't be anxious about his elbow when he does return to the mound.

DeGrom has been stellar in seven starts this season, allowing just a 1.87 ERA and 0.992 WHIP and striking out 11.2 batters per nine innings.

At the time he left the game, deGrom had extended his scoreless streak to 18 1/3 innings.

Callaway indicated Wednesday night he was considering Corey Oswalt or Matt Harvey to take deGrom's spot in the rotation if he can not pitch.
