In the earnings call EA CEO Andrew Wilson referred to Anthem as a "brand new franchise", pretty much saying what I've thought for a while: the publisher is investing in Anthem for years and years to come. So, it isn't much of a surprise that some fans are rightly anxious about the direction of Bioware and how a game like Anthem might affect their storytelling prowess. "We also have teams envisioning future BioWare games, and they're designing approaches that are different from Anthem-including one that's very Dragon Age", he wrote.
Anthem has already been labelled as a Destiny killer, even though the game that killed Destiny was Destiny itself. "What if I don't have friends that I play games with?" The game EA shows off next month at EA Play may not exhibit the same hints and microtransaction clues shown past year.

But Trump instead lobbed the "swamp person" charge at Donnelly, prompting the audience to break into a "Drain the swamp" chant. Donnelly has carefully nurtured a voting record that has, until now, avoided being considered by Republicans as too liberal.
Wilson also hinted that there may be a way for people to access Anthem early, though that could be anything from beta tests to just the usual early access anybody who has an EA Access membership often gets for the newest titles. And while Anthem does have single-player, it's the multiplayer aspect that has left some fans feeling as though those strong elements that make Bioware games so fun and replayable for them. It's expected to launch in March 2019.
"New IP is one the purest forms of innovation in our industry. It is fast, dangerous, lovely and unexpected", EA's Patrick Soderlund said at EA Play in June. Due to Anthem being a new IP, EA is remaining very reserved in its expectations and outlook for the game. "To accommodate that, we are moving the launch date for this project into FY19".
