Jim Jordan Denies Reports He Hid Sexual Abuse at Ohio State

Ohio lawmaker accused of ignoring abuse of Ohio State student-athletes

"Jim Jordan is one of the most outstanding people I've met since I've been in Washington and I believe him 100 percent". "Jimmy said something to the extent of, 'If he tried that with me, I would kill him'".

The June 15 email reads in part: "Please Jesus look down on us and save us from the worldwide news outlets who are going to be setting up shop in columbus [sic] and Urbana Ohio this fall to provide daily updates on the most vile sex abuse and abuse of power scandal in modern American history of higher education and organized sport!"

The wrestler, Shawn Dailey, said he was groped half a dozen times by Dr. Richard Strauss in the mid-1990s, when Jordan was the assistant wrestling coach.

The university has urged anyone with relevant information about Strauss to contact the law firm Perkins Coie, which is conducting an independent investigation.

"I am not a ideal person, but ask any of the wrestlers and they will tell you everybody knew about Doc", Yetts said.

A fourth former college wrestler is claiming Rep.

The conservative firebrand, who has repeatedly denied that he ever knew about the alleged abuse, told reporters Wednesday he was asking the Capitol Police to look into what he called "strange" harassing emails his office received from DiSabato as recently as 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Jordan's rep countered this, demanding "that they send us the supposed communication" and noting Jordan remains "willing to assist". He's taken leading roles in fighting the Affordable Care Act and in pushing back against the government's Russian Federation investigation, most recently interrogating Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in committee.

A partner with Porter Wright Morris & Arthur said the investigative team had in fact contacted Jordan about an interview by email and phone.

Jordan has served in the U.S. House since 2007.

Yetts, for example, spent time in prison for bilking investors out of almost $2 million. We're happy to talk with the folks doing the investigation.

He also disputed reports that he'd ignored an interview request from a law firm investigating the abuse claims.

Attempts to reach Yetts were not successful Tuesday.

A source in Jordan's office, who described the emails as " weird, seemingly unhinged", told ABC News the lawmaker received the emails on his personal account and they were turned over by his staff to Capitol Police for their expert assessment.

Dr. Strauss's inappropriate touching of athletes was open knowledge, he said, and he remembered talking about it with Mr. Jordan on road trips, in the sauna and after practices. Mr. Jordan, a Republican, has denied that.

Nassar, 54, pleaded guilty to molesting women and girls under the guise of treatment and was caught with child pornography. The most notable, of course, is the Jerry Sandusky scandal, which led to the firing of legendary Penn State coach Joe Paterno and criminal charges against Sandusky that now have him serving a prison sentence that will effectively mean that he will die in prison.
