Trump Is Angry Over Sluggish North Korea Talks Amid Reports Kim Jong Un Duped Him

From discounting South Korean President Moon Jae-in's recent remarks on peace efforts as "useless instructions" to slamming his economic policy, the Rodong Sinmun, the newspaper of the North's ruling Workers' Party, has sharpened its rhetoric.

New images from the Sohae Satellite Launching Station appear to show partially dismantled structures, including a rail-mounted transfer structure where space launch vehicles are assembled and a rocket engine test stand.

But US officials suspect that it has been used to test ballistic missiles.

President Donald Trump said North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un had vowed to destroy an engine test site, but did specify which one. US officials later confirmed that the site that the US President was referring to was Sohae.

North Korea is refusing to denuclearise unless the U.S. meets its demands for a new peace treaty, it has been reported.

North Korea's recent series of tirades against South Korea appear to indicate its discomfort over Seoul's adherence to the global sanctions regime and a lack of progress in cross-border exchanges, analysts in Seoul said Sunday.

"(We) can not help but evaluate (the lecture) as consistent prejudices marked by blindness to the reality and subjectivity, stubbornness that disregarded the process which gave rise to a result, and a showy admonishment", the paper said.

It wants Mr Trump to start lifting sanctions in return, although U.S. officials say Mr Trump is privately frustrated about the slow progress since he met Mr Kim face to face last month.

And that includes the restoration of military training exercises with South Korea which Trump suspended in a nod to Kim.

He adds: "But the Fake News is saying, without ever asking me (always anonymous sources), that I am angry because it is not going fast enough. But the relationships are very good".

United Nations special rapporteur on human rights North Korea, Tomás Ojea Quintana, said earlier this month that if the women had been taken to South Korea unwillingly "that is considered the crime".

Critics of the Singapore deal claim the document lacks specifics and does not tie North Korea to a firm timetable on denuclearization or giving up its current nuclear weapons. "Japan is happy, all of Asia is happy", he said.

In spite of the current inter-Korean rapprochement, Seoul is thus supporting Washington's position of maintaining the pressure of global measures against North Korea. "We have no time limit".
