A representative for Lovato says she is awake and recovering with her family.
According to TMZ, singer Demi Lovato has reportedly been hospitalized after an apparent heroin overdose. A 2012 documentary, "Demi Lovato: Stay Strong", documents how she used to snort cocaine several times a day but found her way into rehab and back into a successful career. The status of her current condition has yet to be made public, but TMZ states she was treated with a rapid-acting substance called Narcan.
Exact details on her medical emergency have not been revealed.
Lovato has spoken openly about her struggles with alcohol and substance abuse. She also said she had struggled with alcoholism and an eating disorder, which she disclosed after spending a year in a sober-living facility.
In fact, she even released a touching song titled Sober through which she expressed how she felt like she'd disappointed her fans and loved ones by breaking her six years of sobriety. "And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor", Lovato sang.
"I was just really proud of her that she was honest, because it's really hard to be honest with yourself", Azalea told ET. "I'm here for you friend! It will never be forgotten".
