Michael Cohen ready to tell special counsel Trump knew about 2016 meeting

President Trump Denies Claims He Knew About Meeting With Russians

Donald Trump denies advance knowledge of son’s meeting with Russian lawyer

"NO", Trump tweeted Friday morning.

Michael Cohen arrives to court in NY on May 30, 2018.

Sources told CNN that Cohen claims that then-candidate Trump had advance notice of the June 2016 meeting in Trump Tower involving Donald Trump Jr. and is willing to assert that claim to special counsel Robert Mueller.

Longtime Trump Organization chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg has been subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury in the Michael Cohen investigation, according to The Wall Street Journal.

It came after multiple outlets reported that Cohen had claimed that President Donald Trump approved the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting between his campaign staff members and Russians.

The sources said Cohen does not have any evidence, including tapes, to back up his claims.

According to the sources, Trump was informed of the meeting, and gave it the go-ahead. It appeared to show the president was aware of a payment made to prevent publication of articles about Playboy model Karen McDougal's alleged affair with the president.

"He's been lying all week, he's been lying for years", Giuliani said on CNN's "Cuomo Prime Time". And Trump tweeted this of the possibility that Cohen might flip on him under pressure: "Sorry, I don't see Michael doing that despite the disgusting Witch Hunt and the dishonest media!" "There's a lot. You're with someone for 10 years, you don't think there's a lot?"

Rather, Sherman further tweets that they'd pick up about $4MM of his deal and send secondary prospects to the Rangers in return. The Cubs just activated Butler from the disabled list earlier this week after he had missed three months with a groin injury.

If Mueller has decided "that Trump is not a target" for collusion and if he's wrapping up his probe, Strassel said she wished "that he'd feel he had a duty to tell the country the president is no longer a target so people can start to move on".

Trump's personal attorney, Michael Cohen, says that he and others were present when Trump was notified of the meeting and its intent by Donald Trump Jr.

"What we are investigating is how did that happen?" The Times also reported in June that Trump personally dictated a misleading statement about the goal of the meeting, even after his aides repeatedly denied that he did so.

The meeting which Rob asked for was on my calendar at 4:00 p.m. marked simply as "Meeting, Don Jr., Jared Kushner". Trump. Jr. responded, "if it's what you say, I love it", and started to arrange the meeting.

President Donald Trump's ex-lawyer has largely stayed out of the spotlight in the months since federal agents raided his office and hotel room and seized scores of records about his work for Trump.

Cohen recently turned to prominent attorney and lobbyist Lanny Davis, a long-time associate of Bill and Hillary Clinton, to represent him.

Alas, Trump denies that he knew about the meeting in advance. "Gee, I wonder if they helped him make the choice!"

The intensifying hostility between Trump and his former lawyer comes as Cohen is under federal investigation for possible bank fraud and campaign finance violations.

Trump complained that he had returned from a trip Midwest Thursday "only to be greeted with the ridiculous news" that Mueller and his team "cannot find Collusion... so now they are looking at my Tweets (along with 53 million other people)".
