Louis CK has made his return to comedy

Universal Pictures and Illumination terminated their relationship with C.K. on "The Secret Life of Pets 2".

In November, the New York Times published a report in which five women, fellow comedians or other entertainment professionals, discussed being harassed or propositioned by C.K.in professional settings. But he did watch a tape of the set and said that when the host announced C.K., the audience broke out into "sustained applause", with some folks "giving a little bit extra", as if to show they "wanted to hear what he had to say".

Comedy Cellar owner Noam Dworman spoke to the New York Times about the performance and said it was "typical Louis CK stuff". After apologizing and staying out of the spotlight for nearly a year, C.K. made a surprise appearance at the Comedy Cellar in NY.

Another comedian there told the paper that C.K. was well received by the audience and was "really, really good".

If C.K. accuser Rebecca Corry's account is any indication, the most severe punishment is reserved for the victims who speak out against abuse, not the powerful abuser themselves. "I don't think anyone's come after the theaters and stages that allow Mike Tyson to tour the country with his show, and Bill Clinton still goes to parties".

Chicago fire: at least eight dead including six children, officials say
Eight children were killed after a fire sparked in an apartment building in Chicago , fire officials said. Firefighters were called to the West Side building just before 4am and the fire was put out by 5.10am.

He released a statement in which he said the stories were true and he expressed remorse for his actions.

Telfer went on to explain in analogy-free language: "If you repeatedly undermine other people's careers so you can trap these human beings and force them to witness you masturbate, then you don't get that career anymore".

News of the set, first reported Tuesday by the Times, sparked a larger conversation on social media and elsewhere about men who have quietly returned to their professions after stepping out of the limelight following sexual misconduct allegations.

"I've said many times that if I found that someone applying for a job had a sordid past but he doesn't do that anymore - he cleaned himself up 10 or 15 years ago, he was involved in assaults - people would congratulate me for being so progressive. And I care about doing the right thing", Dworman told the paper. And I've tried to learn from them.
