Tiger Woods Takes the Lead at the BMW Championship

The tee times for the final round of the 2018 BMW Championship will again be moved up in hopes of avoiding a ton of rain in the Philadelphia area during the final round.

Woods entered the tournament ranked 25th in the FedEx Cup standings and needs to stay in the top 30 to be eligible for the Tour Championship.

With temperatures in the upper 90s making Aronimink play short, Woods had an 8-under 62 that included a bogey on his next-to-last hole.

Just before the start of the third round in the BMW Championship tournament that is being held in Aronimink, Newton Square, Xander Shauffele posted a 6-under-par Round 2 to seized the lead after Tiger Woods scored even par.

Jordan Spieth, the third member of the star-studded group, was even through 11 holes.

But Woods made amends with a closing birdie at the par-five ninth, where he sank a seven-foot putt.

Following a ho-hum par at the 11th, Tiger found the fairway at the 466-yard, par-4 12th with a 307-yard drive and was left with 153 yards to the pin. Surprisingly, Schauffele now has a 2-stroke advantage over his nearest competitor Justin Rose.

It may have looked [like] I was getting coaching , but that's what I do. "Sash [Osaka's coach Sascha Bajin] was coaching as well". During the question period at the trophy ceremony, Selena said she didn't want to be rude, but wouldn't answer any questions.

Ryder Cup captain Jim Furyk had an easy time deciding on three of his four picks for the Ryder Cup.

McIlroy had been a shot clear of Woods at nine-under par after 15 holes when Woods headed for the clubhouse.

In the hunt: Rory McIlroy is four shots off the lead at the BMW Championship after following up a fine first day with a slightly disappointing round yesterday.

It is the sixth occasion in Woods' career he's recorded nine holes in 29 or better, and on four of those five prior occasions he has gone on to win. How fun was that? "I've hit hundreds of millions of putts with that thing". "I mean, Tony obviously is the guy right now". He still hit 14 of 18 greens but just didn't give himself as many chances.

Woods and McIlroy had played a nine-hole practice round together on Tuesday. Eight-under and three clear of the field.

Another birdie at the first hole, his 10th, took Woods to seven under. Dropped from a share of the lead to 5 back. After missing the fairway, Woods blasted a 5-wood out of the thick stuff and almost made it onto the green. "We've got to go with the ebbs and flows". "Everyone is going low and birdies should be had".
