"We are fighting for our sister".

With the police facing heat, a senior official has Monday said the bishop may be summoned to Kerala for interrogation. "At night till 12 pm, this sister was alone in his room for "spiritual direction".

Coming out as a fresh development in the Kerala nun rape case, the brother of the Kerala nun on Wednesday slammed the accused Bishop and claimed that he was offered Rs 5 crore to withdraw his complaint against the accused Bishop Franco Mullakkal.

The police, in an earlier statement based on initial investigation and available evidence, had said it was found that the bishop had allegedly committed unnatural offence and raped the nun.

Kerala MLA P C George ran into controversy when he made insensitive remarks against the nun who an actress who was has alleged that she was sexually assaulted by a bishop. It was also pointed out that a nun, who was a witness in the case, had received threats to life, and no steps were taken by the police to afford witness protection, despite a specific request to that effect.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Diocese of Jalandhar (where the accused bishop is posted) has questioned the nun's motives and has termed her complaint as vendetta.
