CBS Madison reports that the Dane County dispatch center received several 911 calls about a possible shooter around 10:25 a.m. CST.
The witness, who asked not to be named, heard about a dozen gunshots from what he says sounded like a handgun, as he was holed up in a room and texting his wife before police arrived.
"Please lock all doors, stay inside and shelter in place until further notice".
Police have not released details on whether there have been any injuries. She provided no additional information. WMTV reports victims were transported to University of Wisconsin hospital. The motive for the shooting was not immediately known.
Judy Lahmers, a business analyst at WTS Paradigm, said she was working at her desk when she heard shots at around 10 a.m.
A large number of emergency services, including a SWAT team and multiple ambulances, responded to the shooting.
Lahmers told the Associated Press she ran out of the building and hid behind a auto.

The shooting reportedly occurred in Middleton, a suburb of Madison.
Lahmers says she knows one co-worker was grazed by a shot but was OK.
Still, Stubbs says she felt humiliated and degraded. She said: "We're all software people". Others remained huddled in a cafeteria for more than an hour.
The suspect was shot by officers after the incident at WTS Paradigm, a software company, Middleton Police Chief Charles Foulke said at a news conference.

"Avoid the area north of West Campus into Middleton".
