Google Home Hub Features A 7-inch Touch Display; Comes With Google Assistant

A report by MySmartPrice contains several leaked images of the Google Home Hub and screenshots of product specifications revealing key design and specifications details. About two-thirds of smart speaker users in the USA will use an Amazon Echo this year, compared to less than 30 percent who will use a Google Home, according to EMarketer Inc. And given than Alexa devices are all about connecting with each other, you can pair the 6-inch subwoofer with other Echo speakers for "dynamic" stereo sound. It looks like a tiny ottoman (and a Google Home).

The 7-inch touchscreen can be used for navigating the custom user interface for Google Assistant.

It's very likely that this isn't the real pricing, however, given the product was leaked.

Android Authority notes that the price of the Google Home Hub will be at $149.

It also shows that the device will be available in two colors - chalk and charcoal. The speaker appears to have a dedicated mute switch which will be for turning off the far-field microphones in the unit. "Google Home Hub helps you make the most of moments at home".

Hurricane Florence death toll climbs as flooding spreads
As this storm continues to churn through North Carolina, it has dumped almost two feet or more of rain in many places. Florence made landfall near Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina , as a Category 1 hurricane Friday morning.

While it was no real surprise to see Google and Amazon at the top of the smart speaker sales list, their dominance was notable, particularly considering how quickly the home smart speaker market is growing. The Echo Dot and Echo Plus have better looks and better sound, two things that are important for a smart speaker that'll always be sitting out, while the Echo Show has a larger screen that'll be useful for watching videos and recipes. The control of the Home Hub is not just restricted to cameras but will also be compatible with other home appliances like lights, TVs and more.

Amazon's new wall clock is connected to your Echo speakers over Bluetooth you can set timers, alarms, and change the time using your voice and Alexa commands.

While Echo devices normally connect to the internet over WiFi, this isn't an option in most automobiles. The new model also has a new 5MP front facing camera for HD video calls. This means you can now conduct Skype calls on your Echo device in addition to the Drop In and voice calls.

With so little set in stone about the Google Home Hub, it's hard to be too definitive, but it certainly seems like the company is onto a victor here. For comparison, the 8-inch Lenovo Smart Display costs $199, while the 8-inch JBL Link View costs $250.

Google's big hardware event is coming October 9, and we're getting a clearer picture of what to expect from the show as the days go by.
