'The most unethical sham': Lindsey Graham rails at Kavanaugh FBI probe demands

This image released by the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday Sept. 26 2018 in Washington shows Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh's calendar from the Summer of 1982

Sen. Lindsey Graham got really, really mad at the Kavanaugh hearing

It seems Sen. Graham's viral remarks at Thursday's hearing portended decisive action.
"This is the most unethical sham since I've been in politics".

"Boy, you all want power". Boy, I hope you never get it. He added, "I hope the American people can see through this sham". In the season opener, which also featured Matt Damon playing Supreme Court nominee Kavanaugh, McKinnon does her best to ridiculously portray Graham's enraged colloquy with the judge last week over allegations of sexual assault against the judge. It contains mildly objectionable language. Lindsey Graham shouts while questioning Judge Brett Kavanaugh during his Supreme Court confirmation hearing on Capitol Hill, Sept. 27, 2018 in Washington. "But it did not leak from us, I assure you that". I didn't tell anyone, and you're telling all women that they don't matter, that they should just stay quiet because if they tell you what happened to them, you are going to ignore them.

In testimony earlier Thursday, Blasey Ford said she would welcome an Federal Bureau of Investigation probe into her allegation that a 17-year-old Kavanaugh assaulted her at a house party in 1982, when she was 15.

President Donald Trump has already successfully nominated Neil Gorsuch for the vacancy created by the death of Antonin Scalia with his predecessor Mr Obama unable to install his choice. "And if you really wanted to know the truth, you sure as hell wouldn't have done what you done to this guy".

Is it too much to wonder why Graham was so quick to invoke Cosby - whose well-deserved prison sentence for multiple rapes in no way precludes any crimes Kavanaugh might have committed back in high school or after.

A third woman, Julie Swetnick, accused Kavanaugh and Judge of excessive drinking and inappropriate treatment of women in the early 1980s, among other accusations. "The one thing I can tell you should be proud of - Ashley, you should be proud of this - that you raised a daughter who had the good character to pray for Dr. Ford".

Baker: ‘Sickening’ Kavanaugh Allegations Should Be Investigated Before Senate Vote
Thomas was accused of sexual harassment by Anita Hill, and has a lot of similarities to Kavanaugh's hearings. Kavanaugh has denied Ford's allegations.

Graham has strongly questioned the credibility of the allegations against Kavanaugh.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, a Democratic member of the Judiciary Committee from Rhode Island, said he expects the FBI would provide adequate staffing for the investigation, with teams working in parallel to investigate separate allegations.

"I'd say I've been through hell and then some", Kavanaugh replied.

Kathleen Hall Jamieson, communications professor and director of the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania, said some of Kavanaugh's statements "were more consistent with one's expectations of a partisan than a judge or prospective associate justice of the Supreme Court".

Dickerson asked Cotton why women who have been sexually abused would come forward with their stories if, like Dr. Ford, they are not believed by the Senate? Boot described Kavanaugh's testimony as "evasive and deceptive", arguing that his anti-Democrat comments at the hearing "reflected a conspiratorial mindset". Graham asked Kavanaugh as he wrapped up.
