Samsung set to release silver-colored Galaxy Note 9

iPhone XS Max vs Galaxy Note 9 Real-World Speed Test

DEAL: Galaxy Note 9 Bundle With Gear IconX and Wireless Charger is...

When it comes to battery life, those tests showed similar battery life for the iPhone X and iPhone XS, with the XS Max lasting for nearly an hour longer than the 5.8-inch models. The device might be named Samsung Galaxy A9 or Galaxy A9 Star Pro, according to earlier reports. However, this year's iPhone XS brings its LTE A-game. The phone has been built out of aluminium, and it comes in a glass casing lending it a very premium feel. But 4x4 MIMO is more widespread than it was a year ago, both on the handset side and on the carrier side, so we thought it was time to put four on the floor.

The speed test battle on a video compared iPhone XS' A12 Bionic processor to Samsung Galaxy Note 9's Snapdragon 845 in multitasking performance. This version of the Note 9 works on all major carriers, including Verizon. The difference between the three phones gets slimmer as the cellular signals get weaker.

Similar tests by Ookla have also revealed a similar result, with the latest iPhone duo outperforming its predecessor by nearly a factor of two but still falling short of the likes of the Note 9 and Pixel 2.

However, it is also completely possible that the Bloomberg report is wrong or at least not completely factually correct. Apple had reportedly bought around 7,000 Super Micro servers when its security teams discovered the chips.

That's still a conversation that you're going to have to have with your wallet, but PCMag has provided a little more data to tip the scales in favor of the iPhone XS. In a different test before that, Tom's Guide's tests showed that neither the iPhone XS nor the XS Max was able to outlast the iPhone X.

This is a stark contrast to previous iPhone XS investigations which have largely suggested that the battery claims don't actually materialize in the real world.

This testing would have been impossible without key equipment from Rohde & Schwarz, the global leader in test and measurement of mobile devices and networks. The German source that first leaked the info about the device now arrived with more specs, including chipset, battery capacity and memory options.
