Atiku beat 11 other contestants after polling 1, 532 to emerge as the victor of the primary at the National Convention in Port Harcourt.
Atiku defeated other aspirants such as Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, Sokoto state governor, Aminu Tambuwal, among others.
Speaking on behalf of the other aspirants, Mr Saraki, at the venue of the convention, pledged to support Mr Abubakar.
"I want to pay tribute to each and every one of them assure you that I am ever ready to work with each and every one of them for the realisation of the victory of our party in the forthcoming elections".
NAN reports that 14, 842, 072 members of the APC had at the party's National Presidential Convention in Abuja, affirmed President Buhari as the candidate of the party for the 2019 Presidential Election.

Abubakar hopes to replicate Buhari's 2015 feat of winning a presidential election at the fourth attempt after he left the ruling APC party in November and re-joined the PDP a month later.
