Liverpool star Sadio Mane sustains injury while on worldwide duty

Van Dijk scored just his second goal for the Netherlands against Germany

He is the fourth player heading back to Liverpool with a problem following the latest series of internationals.

Sadio Mane was said to have being injured in a training session with Senegal that ruled him out of a return game against Sudan.

Mane played the full 90 minutes in Liverpool's goalless draw with Manchester City before the global break but picked up an injury while training with Senegal in the lead-up to their clash with Sudan. A decision will then be taken whether a further procedure is necessary.

Mohamed Salah was sent back to Liverpool early after picking up a muscle problem during Egypt's African Cup of Nations win over Swaziland last week and it remains to be seen whether the attacker will be fit to face Huddersfield.

Reason why Chelsea, United and Liverpool may miss out on Ramsey
The Arsenal midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and will be free to talk to clubs from January onwards. Ramsey could also negotiate with a foreign team from January, with Juventus reportedly interested.

The Reds trio have all been suffering with various injuries, with Van Dijk and Salah picking up issues during global match. He has been playing with two broken ribs since being hurt against Southampton at the end of last month, according to Dutch manager Ronald Koeman. The centre-back will miss Holland's friendly with Belgium this evening but Liverpool hope he'll be able to feature for them at the weekend.

"He insisted on being present against Germany".

A draw at Belgium followed a big 3-0 Nations League win over Germany, with Koeman hopeful this is just the start for the Netherlands, who have failed to qualify for the last two major worldwide tournaments.

Van Dijk too is in line to play the match at the weekend, struggling with a rib injury on worldwide duty.
