Boston Red Sox win the World Series

Here’s What You Missed While You Slept Through The Longest World Series Game In History

'That felt like two losses': Media, fans react to ex-Ranger Ian Kinsler's poor Game 3 performance in World Series

As if the drama of the World Series had not been unpredictable enough, the Boston Red Sox threw out their latest surprise when they named pitcher David Price as the starter for Sunday's Game 5 against the hometown Los Angeles Dodgers (8:09 p.m. ET). The first was a two-run shot in the top of the first inning.

Roberts went to closer Kenley Jansen in the eighth, and he gave up the homer to Pearce. Solo homers by Mookie Betts in the sixth inning and J.D. Martinez in the seventh quieted the crowd, and Pearce added a solo drive off Pedro Baez in the eighth. A pinch-hit homer by Mitch Moreland in the seventh got them three runs.

Pearce, whose three-run double in the ninth inning of Game 4 on Saturday night, scored Andrew Benintendi, who reached on a one-out ground single to center. Only the New York Yankees (27) and St. Louis Cardinals (11) have more. Alex Cora became the first manager from Puerto Rico to guide a team to the title.

Game 4 of the 2018 World Series delivered a 9.8/19 metered market result for the Rupert Murdoch owned network.

Several killed in United States shooting near Pittsburgh synagogue
KDKA has reported that police was able to extract several people from the basement of the synagogue as well as from the attic. Pittsburgh Public Safety issued a warning on Twitter . "More info will be released when it is available".

When spring training opened in February, no player had more to prove than David Price.

After posting a team-record 108 wins in the regular season and romping through the AL playoffs, the Red Sox finished off a one-sided Series.

"We are a bunch of grinders", Pearce said after the game, "and this is exactly where we knew we were going to be". Only their rival, the Yankees, had more wins en route to winning it all, winning 125 games in 1998. This move, however, has set off alarm bells - mainly about the health of Sale, who missed a start in the American League Championship series due to a stomach illness.

This was the sixth consecutive year the Dodgers were in the postseason, but it wasn't quite as straightforward to get back to this point.
