Disney released a teaser trailer for the 2019 remake of, "The Lion King".
James Earl Jones as Musafa
Chiwetel Ejiofor will voice Scar, the villainous lion.
English actor John Oliver will voice Zazu, the bird who acts as the king's adviser, while Billy Eichner and Seth Rogan take on the comedy duo of meerkat Timon and warthog Pumbaa. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. We say live-action, though it's better to describe this as a "photorealistic CGI remake", similar to what Favreau did with Disney's The Jungle Book a few years ago. (A sequel is already in the works.) As with that film, the new Lion King is expected to use performance-capture technology and computer-generated imagery to bring its animal characters to life. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub's arrival. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba's exile. It looks super realistic and I love how they redid THAT scene you haven't been able to get out of your head since the 1990s. Let us know in the comments!
The highly anticipated film will hit theaters July 19, 2019.
