The Chicago Bears are in first place and the favored Minnesota Vikings are just a game behind them, leaving the Green Bay Packers playing catchup heading into their fourth divisional game of the season.
Looking ahead, the Lions have two tough matchups coming at home at Ford Field when they host the Bears on Thursday in their annual Thanksgiving Day game and then they welcome the Los Angeles Rams the following Sunday.
Nagy said the injury occurred late in the Sunday night victory at Soldier Field over the Minnesota Vikings, when Trubisky took a direct hit on his right shoulder. He hasn't thrown more than two passes in a season since 2014 in Kansas City.
So how serious is this, and how concerned should Bears fans be? He wants to play.
Nagy wouldn't describe the injury beyond saying Trubisky is "in pain, which is normal".
Asked if there is any chance Trubisky will require surgery, Nagy answered with a firm, "No".
One of Trubisky's strengths has been his mobility, even if it did land him on the injury report.

It looks super realistic and I love how they redid THAT scene you haven't been able to get out of your head since the 1990s. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba's exile.
"He's good at (sliding)", Nagy told The Athletic. "He makes play after play", Nagy said. I hope he does. "But it's a day-to-day thing for us". "I know that. And for us, we got to make sure in these situations that we're doing the right thing". "So we know what each other likes and I think we can just roll".
"They're not that significantly different", Helfrich said. "The game is not fast to him when he plays". "You expect that. I can tell you who didn't doubt ourselves". They have split the season series two of the past three years. Bears could activate QB Tyler Bray today to backup Daniel, with possibility that Trubisky now will not dress...
It isn't only what Nagy said Tuesday, it was the look on his face as he talked.
If Trubisky can not go, Chase Daniel will get the start.
Bears QB Mitch Trubisky is listed as inactive as he continues to battle a shoulder bruise.
There aren't a lot of cardinal rules in the National Football League, but one is under no circumstances should you ever mess with the "Franchise".
