Djokovic and Halep top seeds at Australian Open

AO 2019 draw revealed

Andy Murray opens his Australian Open campaign against Roberto Bautista Agut

Should Djokovic, a six-time victor at Melbourne Park, beat an as-yet-unknown qualifier, he could face wild card Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the next match, with Denis Shapovalov a possible third-round opponent and Kei Nishikori potentially awaiting in the last eight.

Six-time Melbourne Park champion Federer, seeded No.3 for his quest for a hat-trick of Australian Open crowns and a record seventh AO titles in all, opens his 2019 campaign against world No. 99 Denis Istomin, while fellow six-time Melbourne victor and men's top seed Novak Djokovic plays a qualifier in the first round.

Kyle Edmund, back at the scene of his semi-final appearance 12 months ago, was also given a hard opener against former top-10 stalwart Tomas Berdych, who is unseeded following injury.

Murray won only two games in an incomplete practice match with Djokovic at Melbourne Park, showing signs he's still not fully fit after spending most of the last 18 months off the tour.

"If I had a chance to do it as well I'd be happy to try and go there as well".

Top seed Novak Djokovic, who like Federer is bidding for a record seventh title in Melbourne, will take on a qualifier. If it would happen defending this title, I would gladly accept it.
