Mayorga went public with her story in an interview with Der Spiegel in September, saying the Portuguese worldwide raped her in a Las Vegas hotel room after a chance meeting in June 2009.
A law enforcement official with knowledge of the case told the Wall Street Journal that authorities in Sin City recently sent the warrant to court officials in Italy, where the 33-year-old now plays for Juventus.
Law enforcement officials discovered DNA on Mayorga's dress from the 2009 incident that does not belong to Mayorga and want to see if the Juventus star's DNA is a match.
"Mr. Ronaldo has always maintained, as he does today, that what occurred in Las Vegas in 2009 was consensual in nature", attorney Peter S. Christiansen said in a statement, "so it is not surprising that DNA would be present, nor that the police would make this very standard request as part of their investigation". Now, she is looking to help Kathryn Mayorga build a legal case against Ronaldo for sexual assault.

The packages were sent two days after an envelope containing powder was sent to the Argentinian consulate in Sydney . An incident was also listed at the South Melbourne building where the Consulate General of Turkey is based.
He is then alleged to have offered her clothes to change into and pointed her towards the bathroom. But she kept saying no.
Ronaldo has repeatedly denied the rape allegations.
Mayorga revealed in September 2018 that she was the woman who had previously accused Ronaldo of raping her back in 2010, which led to an out-of-court settlement that was first reported by Der Spiegel in 2017. Lennard has since been in contact with Mayorga's team and will be looking to share her evidence with them.
Ronaldo, then 24, was on vacation in Las Vegas and met Ms. Mayorga in the Rain nightclub at the Palms Casino Resort before inviting her to a party in his suite, according to her civil complaint. She says she was left traumatised, and suffering from post-traumatic stress, "major depression" and suicidal thoughts.
