Pelicans Rumors: Anthony Davis seems unlikely to be moved by deadline

Report Lakers pull out of Anthony Davis trade talks

Anthony Davis adds Bucks to list of desired teams

Not only would they secure Davis for the rest of this season and next, but they'd also prevent the Boston Celtics from having a shot at trading for the star big man. Los Angeles is one of Davis' preferred destinations, and the club already reportedly offered a package of Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Lance Stephenson, Rajon Rondo, and Michael Beasley in hopes of landing him.

Rich Paul, Davis's agent, revealed his star client's trade demand a week ago, leading to a $50,000 fine for Davis from the National Basketball Association but forcing the Pelicans' hand, lest he play out his contract next year and leave without any compensation.

The Lakers have been actively trying to acquire Davis from the Pelicans, but according to a report from ESPN, New Orleans is nearly looking to be "overcompensated" in a deal to trade him before the deadline. New Orleans has listed Davis as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Chicago Bulls. None of the young guys scored more than 12 points, with LeBron leading the way for LA with 18 points in the loss.

Davis has an extensive injury history.

The NBA trade deadline is February 7.

"I've had teammates every year be a part of trade deadline discussions and things of that nature and we've always figured out to just shield that away and play the game", James said. Ainge is eager to trade for Davis and pair him with Irving, sources said. The best chance Davis has to force his way to the Lakers is by creating a level of chaos and uncertainty in the marketplace about his privately stated wishes.

The Celtics could have access to four first-round picks in the June draft. Tatum and Brown would replenish the Pelicans' thin wing rotation and give them a chance to compete now with more upside ahead as they develop. With not much and/or nothing left in the clip, Los Angeles had to step back from trade talks. Davis "liked" the trade proposal on a Bleacher Report Instagram post. He has no plans to sign an extension with any team this summer, expecting to do so when he becomes a free agent. The Pelicans are 3-10 without Davis this season.
