Iman Shumpert Traded To Rockets In Three-Team Deal

NBA trade rumors: Rockets acquire Iman Shumpert, move Brandon Knight in 3-team deal

Kings send Iman Shumpert to Rockets in 3-team trade with Cavs

The Cleveland Cavaliers, Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings have completed a three-team trade, according to multiple reports.

Houston is sending Brandon Knight and Marquese Chriss to the Cavaliers.

Wojnarowski announced on Twitter Wednesday that the trade will send Kings' small forward and shooting guard Iman Shumpert to the Rockets.

Knight, Chriss and the first rounder are headed to Cleveland.

Barnes was eventually informed of the news by a teammate on the bench, and you can see he was quite surprised by it. Well, his answer to that question would be: "I was in Dallas at the time - playing in a game for the Mavericks ".

In a separate transaction, the Cavs will send Nik Stauskas and Wade Baldwin, both acquired from Portland earlier in the week in the deal that sent Rodney Hood to the Trail Blazers, to Houston. He started 25 games for Houston this season.

The deal was apparently built off the foundation of a previously reported Knight/first-round-pick-for-Burks discussion. He'll give Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni a defensive option should they meet the better perimeter scoring threats - such as Kevin Durant and Paul George - in the playoffs. After trading Kyle Korver to the Utah Jazz for Burks and a pair of second-round picks in late November, they've now flipped Burks for a first-round pick. They also save about $6.1 million in tax payments this season and get off the $15.6 million Knight is owed next season. In Sacramento, he averaged 8.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. The Cavaliers will also continue to look elsewhere as they seek to rebuild a team that now stands at 11-43 on the year. He will be a free agent this summer.

Teams just keep pulling off deals before the National Basketball Association trade deadline.
