A winter weather advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. Tuesday through 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19-20, for heavy snow at times. Some locally heavier amounts are possible near Salina.

The snow is expected to hit Tuesday around 6:00 p.m. with it tapering off around midnight.
Even with limited chances for snow, however, there is a possibility for a glaze of ice on some surfaces, such as bridges and overpasses, during your Wednesday commute.
After receiving a few inches of fresh snow, residents across the mid-Atlantic, New York and southern New England will notice sleet and freezing rain mixing in with the snow. Snow will spread northeast across the region taking over the whole area during the afternoon.
