Freeman had suffered from health issues in the past, including lupus, meningitis and cervical cancer, which she had beaten.
Janice Freeman, a former contestant on The Voice, has died aged 33 of an apparent blood clot.
Freeman was from Covina and lived in Compton, according to the singing competition's website.
'Miley, you are my dawg, like, my best friend, and I will defend you to the bitter end, ' Freeman said on her Instagram story in January 2018.
Bryce Harper to Phillies a fitting end to Cubs’ terrible offseason
Throughout it all, Philadelphia's offer remained on the table, and it appears as though Harper has finally chose to take it. The Dodgers are still in good shape for the 2019 season and beyond, even without adding Harper.
Our thoughts are with Janice's loved ones at this hard time.
On Saturday, Janice told her husband Dion that she couldn't breathe, which prompted a 911 call, her family told TMZ. After her husband performed CPR on her, she was treated by paramedics and later pronounced dead at a hospital. Freeman married in 2015, and when she auditioned for The Voice in 2017 with a rock "n" soul remake of Imagine Dragons" "Radioactive', she told the coaches, "I fought my whole life for this moment".
She and Cyrus shared a close bond that lasted after Freeman left the show, as she revealed on Twitter in January 2018 that the "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" singer even helped cover her housing bills for six months.
The statement continued, "A survivor and fighter, and a handsome force in this world, Janice gained notoriety through her success on NBC's The Voice as a member of Miley Cyrus's team. And she allows God to use her to bless my life".
