Raptors' Ibaka, Cavaliers' Chriss get heated and throw punches

Serge Ibaka Choked Marquese Chriss And Both Threw Punches In A Heated Exchange

Late in the third quarter of Monday night's game, Cleveland Cavaliers big man Marquese Chriss and Toronto Raptors big man Serge Ibaka were ejected from the game after the two exchanged blows in an ugly on-court brawl. Ibaka fell and shoved Chriss upon getting up, which led to punches being thrown by both players.

While the fight was broken up quickly, both players earned a trip to the locker room to cool things down.

It happened when the Raptors attempted a long inbounds pass with one second left in the third quarter. Neither player commented on the situation after the match but according to ESPN, a spokesperson for the Raptors explained that Ibaka was upset at what Chriss said while he was laying on the court.

The struggling Cavs downed the high-flying Raptors 126-101 at Quicken Loans Arena and frustration seemed to get the better of Ibaka.

It's worth noting that seven of the Raptors' 20 turnovers against the Cavs were offensive fouls, a note on the tenacity and hustle with which the host team played. The Washington product has averaged 7.9 points per game in three National Basketball Association seasons.
