It’s official: Cleveland Browns acquire Odell Beckham Jr., Olivier Vernon

New York Giants: Conflicting Odell Beckham Jr. reports continue (Report)

Browns acquire Odell Beckham Jr. from Giants for draft picks, Jabrill Peppers

Now that the shock of Odell Beckham Jr.'s trade to the Browns has worn off, one thing that has come into question is what his new contract will look like.

When Jabrill Peppers played for MI football, he was one of the most exciting players on the field and Tuesday night, he got traded to the New York Giants, giving him a chance to play on one of the biggest stages in sports - New York City.

It's amusing to think that going to play for the Cleveland Browns is actually a better situation for Beckham than being in NY with that stagnant offense.

Peppers, a 2017 first-round draft pick, was sent to the Giants as part of the Beckham deal. Instead, they handed Beckham a five-year, $90 million contract extension with over $40 million in guarantees.

It's a stunner of a deal and, frankly, an incredible steal for the Browns.

He played five seasons in NY, making the Pro Bowl in his first three.

"Now they are in a full-blown rebuild, and 38-year-old Eli is still there", one league executive said Tuesday night. In committing franchise-player money over five years to a genuine star, then bailing on him less than seven months later, the Giants organization showed why it has missed the playoffs in six of the past seven seasons.

Odell Beckham is on the move. They were looking to improve their offensive line, get some pass rushers and shore up the defense, which struggled in coordinator James Bettcher's switch to a 3-4 front. Barkley beat out Mayfield for Offensive Rookie of the Year. However, seeing what the Browns reportedly gave up (Jabril Peppers, a first round pick and a third-round pick), would Broncos fans have wanted to see that?
