Redmi 7 is priced at 699 Yuan (approximately Rs. 7,000) for the 2GB RAM/16GB storage variant. The notch on the front houses an 8MP selfie camera. While the Note 7 Pro is a direct successor to the Note 5 Pro, the Xiaomi Redmi 7 is a successor to the Redmi 5 that was launched in March 2018.

Xiaomi's recently split sub-brand Redmi has launched a new entry-level smartphone, dubbed Redmi 7 in Beijing, China.

Like the Xiaomi Redmi 6, the Redmi 7 also rocks dual rear cameras of 12MP and 2MP.

Other noteworthy Redmi 7 features include a 3.5mm headphone port, IR blaster, and a rear fingerprint scanner.

The move to let go of Redmi as an independent brand does make sense as the brand was saddled with the responsibility of churning out budget devices. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection as well.

When the phone goes on sale in China on March 26, three gradient color options will be available (Comet Blue, Lunar Red, Eclipse Black).

As far as the pricing is concerned, the Redmi 7 is expected to be priced between CNY 700 to CNY 800 (roughly Rs 9,300) for the base 2GB Ram and 16 GB storage model, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun tipped in an earlier post.
