Assange spent nearly seven years in the embassy seeking political asylum, believing himself to be the target of multiple governments for his role in surfacing corruption and United States war crimes. Correa had granted Assange asylum in 2012.

The publisher of top-secret information addressed the mounting concerns over the brown-and-white tabby's well-being following Assange's expulsion from the Ecuadorian embassy in London.

Meanwhile, as journalists and commentators joke about his plight, Assange is languishing in the UK's notorious maximum Belmarsh Prison where he awaits a U.S. extradition hearing for the crime of committing real journalism.

The footage, obtained by Spanish paper El Pais, shows Assange skateboarding in a small timber-floored room while a woman watches. He said he regretted that Assange had used the embassy to interfere in other country's democracies. He also kicked a ball around the embassy's corridors to entertain himself, the newspaper reported.

Assange has had "a very hard time" since Moreno took office in Ecuador in 2017, Robinson said.

That stint ended on Thursday when Ecuador revoked his asylum and he was arrested by British police.

Assange pleaded not guilty to the charge of breaking the terms of his bail in 2012 when he sought refuge at the embassy in London, but was convicted nevertheless.

If you seek drama and tension, or perhaps simply to be moved by football , City's Premier League games are probably not for you. Asked if De Bruyne was close to his best after returning from injury, Guardiola said there is "no doubt about that".

It's the latest chapter in a almost decade-long legal saga for Assange.

"I'm a friend of Julian Assange".

The president also made references to Assange's apparently poor hygiene, which include Assange "putting faeces on the walls".

President Moreno - who came to power in 2017 - said of the decision to end Assange's seven-year stay in the embassy: "Any attempt to destabilise is a reprehensible act for Ecuador, because we are a sovereign nation and respectful of the politics of each country".

Assange is now expected to fight extradition to the United States over an allegation that he conspired with former army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning to break into a classified government computer.

Assange is now in custody in London while Swedish officials weigh up whether to reopen an investigation into rape allegations against him.

Separately, Robinson denied the Ecuadoran government's claims about her client's worsening behaviour inside the Latin American country's embassy in London. Moreno said he "mistreated our officials in the Ecuadoran embassy in London" and that his "improper hygienic behavior" affected the climate at the diplomatic outpost.
